"Together Towards a Better Society"

Dr. Jamal Sheha Foundation for Education, Culture, and Sustainable Development has launched the initiative "Together Towards a Better Society" in partnership with the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (Forum for Cultural Dialogue). This initiative focuses on cultural diversity, citizenship, acceptance of others, and fostering a culture of tolerance.
The project will be implemented in the Marsi Khalil area of Amiriya and will target 100 families. The initiative includes a variety of social and cultural activities for youth, women, and children. Notably, a community committee has been formed, comprising representatives from official bodies and institutions in the area (youth center, public library, Amiriya district, and a prominent local NGO). This committee will participate in planning and implementing the initiative.
Activities within the initiative range from awareness-raising workshops and cultural seminars to youth and children's camps, cultural and tourist visits to national archaeological sites, cultural palaces, and public clubs. Additionally, there will be interactive theatrical performances and a cinema club. All these activities revolve around the same goal: reinforcing the principles of tolerance and social cohesion.
The need for this initiative was identified based on a social study conducted by Dr. Samia Qadri on a sample of the Amiriya community.
A contract has been signed between Dr. Jamal Sheha Foundation and the Coptic Evangelical Organization to implement this initiative from July 2024 to April 2025. Dr. Jamal Sheha Foundation will also contribute by organizing medical caravans for the targeted area to provide medical services to the families.
